The East Boston Foundation is a Not For Profit Trust recognized under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Formed in 1998 to administer a generous $9.6 million commitment from the Massachusetts Port Authority as part of community mitigation and to offset the impacts associated with Massport's $4.4 Billion Logan Airport Modernization Program. The Foundation, acting through its 11 Member volunteer community Board of Trustees provides grants to a wide range of programs and organizations who maintain a mission to assist with improving the quality of life for the East Boston Community and its residents. Since its inception, the Foundation has partnered with dozens of local non profit organizations in awarding over $7.6 million in grants (through 2013).
